Songs from Once on Oscars longlist
Deuce songs from the Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova-starring Irish whisky film 'Once' ar being considered for inclusion on the shortlist for Best Master Song at the 80th Academy Awards.
The songs on the longlist from the Academy of Motion Depiction Arts and Sciences are 'Falling Slowly' and 'If You Want Me'.
Last hebdomad 'Falling Slowly' was nominated in the Best Compilation Soundtrack Record album and C. H. Best Call Written for Motion Picture, Video or Other Visual Media categories for the Grammy Awards.
The Oscars longlist as well has another Irish link: Jonathan Rhys Meyers' interpretation of the song 'This Time' from his fresh film 'August Rush' is also among the 59 tracks being considered.
The Academy Award nominees will be announced on Tuesday, 22 Jan 2008.
